Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Military Hearts is built for active duty service members, veterans, and the women who admire what they stand for. That audience cannot afford a careless platform. Operational security, financial safety, and personal discretion are not abstract values for our members - they are daily habits. This privacy policy reflects that reality.
We collect the minimum data needed to run a legit military dating site, we store it under industry-standard encryption, and we never sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers. Our verification process exists to keep romance scammers and catfishers off the platform - not to surveil our members.

What Information We Collect
We collect three categories of information, each with a clear purpose. You see and control all of them inside your account settings.
★ Account data
When you register, we collect your email address, a password (stored as a salted hash - never as plain text), your date of birth to confirm you are 18 or older, and your stated relationship to the military (active duty, veteran, civilian seeking a service member, or military spouse).
★ Profile data
This is the information other members see: first name or chosen handle, age, general location (city or metro area - never a base address), branch preference, a short bio, and your photos. You decide what to share. You can hide your profile, blur photos for non-matches, or delete any field at any time.
★ Usage data
Standard server logs record device type, browser, approximate IP-based region, and the times you log in. We use this data to detect suspicious sign-ins, prevent fraud, and improve the platform. We do not build advertising profiles from your behavior.
How We Use Your Information
Every piece of data we hold is used for one of the following purposes - and nothing else:
- To create your account, verify your identity, and confirm you are old enough to use a dating service.
- To match you with members who share your relationship goals, branch preferences, and location range.
- To deliver private messages, notifications, and important service announcements.
- To detect and remove romance scammers, fake profiles, and accounts that violate our Terms & Conditions.
- To process subscription payments through PCI-DSS compliant payment processors (we never see or store your full card number).
- To respond to your support requests and improve the platform based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.
- To comply with United States law when we receive a valid legal request.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies that follow you around the web.

- Deletion. Permanently delete your account and all associated profile data within 30 days.
- Portability. Export your profile and message history in a portable format.
- Opt-out. Unsubscribe from non-essential email with one click in any message footer.
- Restriction. Ask us to pause processing of your data while you decide on next steps.
OPSEC Considerations for Service Members
A direct word to active duty readers
We designed Military Hearts with operational security in mind, but the strongest privacy control on any dating platform is still you. Do not share your full legal name, current base, unit, deployment dates, ship name, flight schedule, home address, or daily routine in a public profile or in early messages. Avoid posting photos that reveal a base entrance, your vehicle plate, or a uniform with a clearly readable name tape.
Use the in-platform messaging system until you have established trust. Do not move to text, WhatsApp, or email at the request of someone you have not met in person. If a match asks you to bypass our verification or pressures you for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency, that is a romance scam - close the conversation, block the profile, and review our safety tips for a full red-flag checklist.
Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.
We do work with a small set of vetted service providers who help us run the platform - payment processors that handle subscription billing, email delivery services that send your notifications, identity verification partners who confirm photo authenticity, and cloud infrastructure providers who host our encrypted databases. Each provider is contractually bound to use your data solely to deliver the service we hired them for, and each is reviewed annually for compliance.
We will only disclose your information to law enforcement when we receive a valid, narrowly scoped legal request under United States law, and we will notify you of any such request unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
Data Retention and Security Measures
Active account data is retained for as long as your profile is active and for a short period after deletion to handle billing disputes and fraud investigations. Backup copies are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle. Messages exchanged between members are stored encrypted at rest and are deleted alongside your account.
All connections to Military Hearts are protected by TLS 1.3 encryption. Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms. Payment data is tokenized and handled exclusively by PCI-DSS Level 1 processors. Our infrastructure undergoes annual penetration testing by an independent security firm, and we publish a transparency summary every twelve months.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will update this document whenever we change a meaningful practice. When the change is material - a new data category, a new processor, a new disclosure - we will notify active members by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Older versions are archived and available on request.
Privacy is not a one-time promise. It is a practice we renew every release.
